This day hike offers a glimpse of Kilimanjaro’s beauty without committing to a full summit trek. Walk across the scenic Shira Plateau, spot unique high-altitude flora, and enjoy panoramic views of Africa’s tallest mountain in just one day.
Early morning, meet your guide and drive to Londorossi Gate from Arusha or Moshi. After completing park entry formalities, continue by vehicle for about one hour to Morum Picnic Site, where your trek begins.
From here, hike across the scenic Shira Plateau with spectacular views of the summit cone, Kibo. The trail offers excellent opportunities to spot alpine plants and experience Kilimanjaro’s high-altitude environment. You’ll trek to Shira 1 Camp, where a packed lunch will be served.
After lunch, begin your return hike back to the gate, where your vehicle awaits to transfer you back to Arusha or Moshi. End of services.
